Infant Toddler Paper Early Childhood Paper Middle Childhood Paper Assignment Specifications and Grading Criteria Course: Child Development Description The purpose of this assignment is to help you apply the theories of child development to children you observe. By observing via video, you will better understand young children’s characteristics and needs. (NAEYC
Standard 1a).
Three (3) separate papers will be completed: infant/toddler, early childhood and middle childhood. Content Begin with a brief introduction of the age group. Next, divide your paper into the four developmental domains: social, emotional, physical, and cognitive/ language development. Using Videatives, observe at least three children within the age group. Use these videos as examples of development under each of your four domains. Standard 1a Represent your understanding of this particular age group’s unique characteristics and needs. Use examples from the videos, personal experience, and textbook information to illustrate what this age child can do, say, understand, etc. Discuss important milestones and relevant theorists that support your understanding under each developmental domain. Written Work College level writing is expected.
Provide an APA bibliography for the videos/sources you used. A cover page with NAEYC Professional Preparation Standards rationale must be included.
